Homemade Pizza Dough Recipe: Perfectly Chewy Crust

A chewy, golden homemade pizza dough, ideal for classic or custom pizzas.

Ingredients
  

  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 1⅓ cups warm water
  • tsp active dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp Optional: dried Italian herbs
  • 1 tbsp Optional: cornmeal

Instructions
 

  • Mix warm water, sugar, and yeast; let sit until foamy
  • Combine flour, salt, herbs; add yeast mix and oil
  • Knead 8-10 minutes until smooth
  • Let rise 1-2 hours until doubled
  • Divide, shape into 2 crusts; add toppings
  • Bake at 475°F for 10-15 minutes

Notes

  • Use warm water for yeast
  • Knead for chewy texture
  • Store in fridge for 3 days or freeze for 3 months
  • Serve with marinara or salad
