semi-sweet chocolate chips

chopped pecans or walnuts
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
Cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
Beat in eggs and vanilla.
Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips and optional nuts.
Scoop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto baking sheets, 2 inches apart.
Bake 9-11 minutes until edges are golden. Cool 5 minutes on sheets, then transfer to a rack.
Notes
Use softened butter for the best texture.
Chill dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies.
Don’t overbake for soft centers.
Store in airtight container for 5 days or freeze for 3 months.
